Hello,

This letter is to notify you that SourceForge will be sunsetting user web hosting in 30 days. If you have content hosted on your SourceForge user account's user web hosting here: https://deviousmalcon-t.users.sourceforge.net/ then please make arrangements within 30 days to download it or preserve it, as after 30 days user web hosting will no longer be offered.

Please refer to our documentation if you need help accessing your files hosted on developer web hosting: https://sourceforge.net/p/forge/documentation/Developer%20Web%20Services/

Sincerely,
SourceForge Team

Thanks!

Thank you for the wonderful past 15~ish years of Developer Web (User Web), I grew up here...

The news was unexpected, and I feel short noticed but I'm sure there's a lot of nuances for the decision.
Either way I'll be forever grateful for the experience gathered and learned maintaining this site.

One of my very first experiences using PHP and breaking stuff in a live production environment, the web is changing, it's becoming more closed, you cannot outrun the entropy, A lot of great sites will be lost, and I can only hope (and thank) archive.org for their tireless efforts to preserve them (or what they can).

As for me, what next?
I have a statically generated GitHub user page (https://github.com/DeviousMalcontent), that I guess I'll redirect my efforts towards, but I'll probably also cross host that on my GitLab, as I feel that will also soon suffer the same fate. (Web hosting is expensive and there's only so much the LLMs can eat.), after that I do have my own game dev website that I pay host for here. I guess I could always spin-up a new domain and migrate to that.

I want to say like always you can find me on twitter, but I'm more of a Bluesky'ser these days.

Hey Joe by Deep Purple plays ominously in the background...
