New Rack!
Sunday 16th January 2022
There comes a time in every man's life when he decides to buy a 37ru server rack and start rack mounting everything, for me that day is today...
I created a chart using excel, but here it is re-created in a HTML table.
| 37ru | |
| VGA KVM | |
| DVI KVM | |
| (3) HP Linux 2 | |
| (3) HP Linux 1 | |
| (2) Rack Nas | |
| (4) Win 7 | |
| (4) Win XP | |
| (4) P2 | |
| (4) P1 | |
| (2) UPS | |
The blank white section at the top will be for my Modem, Synology NAS, along with external hard drives.
Below that are my KVMs, 2x spare HP small form factor workstations that I'll use for Linux development, I'm going to leave space for a future NAS, that's 2u tall, and below that I'm planning to migrate my old systems, just a select few in to rack mountable cases, the last piece of the puzzle is a 2u UPS for the NAS.
It will sit beside my desk where I can connect the 2x KVMS to my monitors via switches and capture cards.
Update: here is a pick of it while it is being built.
And this was my jankie solution to rack mount one of my KVMs and a small unmanaged network switch, the VGA KVM I simply mounted atop a Kramer audio switcher.
