Cool mods I've played this year.

Friday 1st December 2017

Something different for today, I wrote up a small summery of some of the game mods that I played this year.

Starting with

Mods for DOOM II:

WolfenDoom: Blade of Agony

Actually, a pretty sweet Doom mod. - amazing what can be done with the doom engine. - I'll let the trailer speak for itself.

Brutal doom

Defending burger town 1

Defending burger town 2

This one's been around for a while, but I've watched its evolution go from a small, extra gib project to now a full-blown new campaign, you even get to defend burger town. :^)

Other interesting things I found:

Commander Keen 4 mod for Doom 2

Neat concept, the thought of taking older style id games and translating them in to 3D has crossed my mind before.

CALL OF DOOM: COD Style Advanced Weapons MOD

Lmao, someone put COD assets in a 23-year-old game engine....

I didn't actually get around to playing this one, but watching the slowed frame rate of the gun animations in the video gave me some interesting ideas for an indie game.

Mods for Duke Nukem 3D

Duke Forces
Pros:
- It's Duke Nukem
- It's Star Wars
- It's made by DeeperThought (absolute legend in the Eduke32 modding community)

Mods for Half-life

Half-Life: Caged

Good mod, but the mechanics are showing their age. Level design is above average.

Mods for Half-life 2

Wilson chronicles

One thing I really appreciated with this one was how easy it was to install it from the steam workshop.

Mods for Quake

Arcane Dimensions
