I tried re-acquiring a copy of IcoFX, a program I had on my PC previously prior to rebuilding it, however since version 1.6.4 (the exact version I previously had) is no longer Freeware but instead now Trial-ware,
Because this version does all the things I really need an icon editor to do, I figured I'd just re-download that version, it's a good thing that when I downloaded it, I did it in a Windows Virtual Machine because every attempt was either one of those shitty downloaders or the package contained a toolbar or a malware, one of the sleazy sites I visited said "Sign in to start the Download" with either a Facebook or google plus account, so I signed in with one of my many rogue accounts, forced me to 'like' their shitty page and just stole my information; R.I.P RogerHardLong1969 your account will never shit post again.
By this point it seemed obvious that the publishers had gone to some extent of removing the previous Freeware version.
TL;DR, fortunately I found I had a copy of version 1.6.4 kept on a DVD from 2011, Downloads 31 (because that's how I label things), the moral of the story is never permanently delete anything, and you can never have enough VM's or rogue accounts.
