Cube 2: Sauerbraten has a port for HTML5...
Sunday 4th January 2015
The Cube 2 engine must be one of the most underrated pieces of software ever! - I've played Cube 2: Sauerbraten more than any other commercial game.
Today I found out that Cube 2: Sauerbraten has a port for HTML5 called BananaBread, at first I installed it to my XAMPP server on my main desktop computer and I couldn't get it to work, but after some troubleshooting, I discovered it was due to a lack of memory (only 4GB of ram, I guess it might be time for an upgrade), So I tried running it on my new laptop which has 8GB, and it worked perfectly, I am absolutely amazed at the amount of graphics power produced by a simple web browser and some JavaScript.
The little creative voice in my head, thinks, "I could run and MMO-RPG on the cloud with it", but I think I am still yet to unlock its full potential. - I mean its potential is unreal, I think any future projects that I endeavour on, I will probably use Cube 2, as I think it's time to give Mapster32\EDuke32 a rest.
