Software that should be boycotted!

AVG 2013 Upgrade

It seems really common now days to have unwanted bundled crapware installed during the installation process of software required for everyday computer use.

Java Setup

One thing I do find surprising is even Oracle (owner of Java) a multimillion dollar company needs to put this kind of crap in their products.

Xfire Setup

Then there are the ones that try and hijack your homepage.

Xfire Setup

Or worse install 3rd party software which claims to 'fix windows errors', without being specific as to what is considered a windows error.

YourFile Downloader

But my favourite is sites that make you download a 4.00MB downloader so you can download a 32kb file.

I think sites that make you do this shit are retarded. - I know there trying to prevent leeching, but all its really doing is making me want to search for an alternative download site.

Media Finder Web Installer

The worst one of all would have to be media finder, don't ever use anything from media finder, I remember downloading this program when I was looking for a textbook in PDF format, (mistaking it for a onetime only downloader).

Media Finder Web Installer

Internet Search (aka DefaultTab and General Crawler) in Firefox

Internet Search (aka DefaultTab and General Crawler) in Google chrome

This shit is installed automatically and is a pain in the arse to remove.

DefaultTab and General Crawler

It's called DefaultTab and General Crawler and is spyware installed by media finder.

Finally, PC Optimizer Pro is a fucking virus I don't know how it got on my system; it appeared on it after I was trying to install a program called iZArc.

If I had the time (and this is still a possibility) I would make a crapware database maintained by the public to list all installers that by default install useless toolbars and such to worn other people and list alternate installers (ones that have had the crapware removed or patched).
